Ješić: Vučić's only salvation is if someone offers him asylum

(Patria) - The initiator of the political initiative "Solidarity" Goran Ješić announced that the social front in the fight against the regime will expand in the coming days and added that the "regime is finished", and that for Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, the only salvation is if someone offers him asylum.

- We will not talk to you (Vučić), you are not competent. Go, decorate the Christmas tree - students reply. They mock him, they laugh in his face, which drives him crazy. He is helpless. He is left alone - says Ješić in an interview for Podgorica's Pobjeda.

He pointed out that students are not children, but free young people, and added that it is now important to create the broadest possible social front.

- The goal is to include other social factors in the process of creating the "Solidarity" movement. We have spoken with representatives of several universities in Serbia, with professors, trade unions, lawyers, agricultural producers.

We are all here as the first ring that must define policy, politically articulate the rebellion and present it to political parties - emphasizes Ješić.

He explains that this political platform will be offered to all opposition parties.

- Whoever accepts will be in the game, whoever does not accept will not exist - assesses Ješić.

Regarding Vučić's statements that he will not allow the formation of a transitional government, Ješić said that it could mean that "he wants exactly what he claims he doesn't want".

- Not a transitional, but a technical government is possible. These are different things. However, before talking about a technical government, it is necessary to define political goals, what comes after the technical government, what comes after the elections. We need to hear what different social strata think about it - notes Ješić.

He also announced that the strengthening of pressure on the regime will follow immediately after the holidays.

- The regime is preparing for elections in March, according to its rules, which will not pass. They will have to think about another option - said Ješić, adding that the current crisis can be resolved through elections, exclusively those not organized by Vučić, and which will be fair and honest.

The conditions, Ješić adds, are free media, prosecution, judiciary, police, orderly voter lists, election laws.

- For twelve years in Serbia, there have been no elections, there has been voting. Fictitious. We must prevent citizens of Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina from coming to Serbia in an organized manner and voting for the Serbian Progressive Party; we must revoke licenses from some media, establish criminal liability for what they have done in recent years - says Ješić.

He assesses that "Vučić's only hand of salvation would be if someone offered him asylum" and adds that his own people have refused obedience, from SNS members, through tycoons to the mafia.

Ješić also said that today's students are "currently the brightest point of this miserable Europe".

- We who are Europeans, who have always been, are absolutely not interested in the stance of Olaf Scholz, Emmanuel Macron, Moscow, and Washington. This is not their battle, they have no influence on what is happening. Nor will they have it - said Ješić.

He added that students from four universities - in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Niš, and Kragujevac - are "much more mature than us and are fighting not only for the freedom of Serbia, but also for the freedom of corrupt Europe, America, Russia".

He also points out that students understand that they are precisely the "torch that has the task of awakening and illuminating Europe".

- Hence the support of students from the entire region: corruption, the collapse of institutions, the crisis of morality, the lack of ideology are problems that equally plague students in Podgorica, Sarajevo, Zagreb, Rijeka. These messages are understood. This time, the flame of freedom will start from the Balkans - announced Ješić.

According to him, the mass rally of support for students in Belgrade, attended by more than 100,000 people from all over Serbia, was a "demonstration exercise".

- When we come to Belgrade next time, we are not going home. Students will go to the campuses, we will stay to solve the problem peacefully - said Ješić, adding that protests cannot succeed without Belgrade, but also without Novi Sad, Kragujevac, Niš, Valjevo.
