Jakšić: Vučić's fall from power is inevitable

(Patria) - It would be good for students to organize politically, as they would have great support and enormous gravitational pull for a united front significantly larger than the People and State Movement, journalist Boško Jakšić stated in an interview for FoNet, who believes that the fall from power of Aleksandar Vučić is inevitable.

Asked by whom Vučić is defending Serbia, Jakšić, on the occasion of the government's rally "We are not giving up Serbia", emphasized that Serbia is being defended today by students and all those citizens who have joined them.

According to him, Vučić does not understand students, because their demands are completely contrary to his visions of politics and the organization of the state.

- We are truly faced with two Serbias today - Jakšić assessed and stated that the government's rally, according to all possible patterns, represented a new polarization.

Emphasizing that everyone at that rally had their own thought-out role, Jakšić states that there are creative people engaged in Vučić's staff who could come up with something new, not just copy what the students are doing.

It seems to him, as he says, that Vučić is trying to repeat a tactic that once proved successful, and recalls that he once stole the idea of the EU from the democratic opposition, leaving it without a key policy.

- So now, on the same matrix, but with different goals, he is trying to steal everything from the students, in order to turn it into his own advantage, but I think that this time this thieving tactic will not work - Jakšić notes.

Asked about the demands that Vučić announced at the rally, he says that the most important is the fifth demand, which he sees as a direct announcement of repression, formulated by the sentence that it is time to show what the state is.

However, he is optimistic because he thinks that Vučić has managed to divide the security forces as well, and that a large number of police and army personnel would refuse orders to deploy tanks or beat people in the streets, use water cannons and rubber bullets.

Despite the fact that "the top of the army and police are made up of Vučić's obedient servants", Jakšić notes that relying on force and arrests would only accelerate the fall from power, but admits that the question of the million dollars is whether "one man is ready for anything or not".

He is of the opinion that Vučić has made as many mistakes in the past five months as he has not in all previous years. These mistakes are an expression of nervousness, Jakšić points out, and indicates that in such circumstances Vučić is unpredictable.

He emphasizes that any statement by Vučić about students as terrorists, scum, and dregs is shameless, impudent, and Jesuitically cynical.

- By comparing student marches with Mussolini's March on Rome, the president is recruiting tens and hundreds of his opponents - said Jakšić, who thinks Vučić no longer knows what he is doing.

He emphasizes that Vučić is beginning to lose the rationality he had, the cold and pragmatic one.

- To a significant extent, he is contributing to his own downfall, which, it seems to me, after these five months, if I were to draw a line, is inevitable - added Jakšić.
