Two headlines stood out yesterday on the front pages of Bosnian media. The first, stating that BiH could become a space power and regional leader, spoke of some young and successful people in the field of science.
Nevertheless, it sounded like a joke that a country unable to fix manholes on drains, which represent potholes on roads that we haven't fixed for twenty years, could be a space power.
Reading the article where optimistic scientists talk about possibilities and space, I remembered that water is leaking in every other street because we can't solve the problem on the ground or underground, and yet we could go to space. Even as a regional leader.
There are many, earthly, issues that Bosnia and Herzegovina fails to resolve, and solutions have long been invented by others, so any talk of space and BiH as a regional space power is so surreal that, I believe, even the Surrealists wouldn't try to sell it as one of their tricks.
However, as surreal as the space thing is, it is much more likely to happen than another promise or announcement we could read yesterday. And that second headline went something like this – “Our Party: We will condition every move by the authorities at the state level with the fulfillment of demands.”
Clearly, humor dominated the media headlines for a while yesterday, because only in comedy can the image of Our Party conditioning anyone fit. To be fair, at first glance, I saw Sabina Ćudić, reading principles on behalf of the party oligarchy, which are fundamental and without whose fulfillment Our Party will not enter state government.
I believe that today neither Edin Forto nor Ćudić know 10 percent of those principles, which they already violated back in the fateful year of 2022. How firmly they were tied to their own principles is clearly shown by the present day in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The present day in Bosnia and Herzegovina is also bleak, with Our Party leading it alongside Milorad Dodik, Dragan Čović, and their colleagues from the Trojka. So bleak that the champions of European integration have nailed us to the last position on the European path. They dare not even speak of the Atlantic path.
How firm the principles of Our Party are is shown by the fact that Forto befriended a colleague from the scope of Aleksandar Vučić's dictatorship, financed one of the key private separatist companies, and ran into problems when he encountered American principles regarding Dodik.
Observing the principled nature of the Našiši (Our Party members), we see that they easily cut off cadres, especially if those cadres are civil servants who refuse to work for the party. That is probably in line with the social-liberal tenets of Our Party.
The behavior of this political entity in the current mandate is anything but principled, and even less influential. If we look at the work in the House of Representatives of the Federation, we will see that Our Party is even ahead of its partners in the Trojka when it comes to following HDZ's interests. Let's remember Vukoje and swallowing frogs. This is a continuation of the Mostar principles of Irma Baralija and Boško Ćavar.
On the other hand, Our Party at the state level voted for all personnel and other controversial solutions without the courage to object.
Today, after the rosy outlook from Europe in the first half of the year and praise for the most successful government ever, the inflated spin balloons have been deflated, and the truth has come as a difficult sobering through the Report, Our Party is returning to tried and tested methods of spinning.
“We will condition every move by the authorities with the fulfillment of demands from the Report,” they say from Our Party. And Dodik and Čović are laughing and waiting for the spin balloon of the Našiši to burst, just like the one about the accelerated European path.
And yes, because of this, I will sooner believe that we will become a regional space power than that Our Party will condition Dodik and Čović. Because if they knew how to condition, Čavara would not be in the leadership of the Parliament, nor would Nešić and Košarac be ministers.
If the seats were not more important to Our Party than the Statute, social-liberalism, and similar nonsense they use as a cover, they would not allow Minister Naida Hota-Muminović, in a government led by their Uk, to carry out repression against children in Sarajevo Canton.
But, the Našiši only object to repression when groups they target as their voter base are in trouble, while everything else is permissible and can be under repression.
In principle, their only principle is money from institutional seats. Everything else is a political joke that we must get rid of if we do not want to cry for the country because of it!
