RTV FBiH Management Board Elected: The Decisive Vote for the Appointment of Zoran Krešić, Who Advocates for the Abolition of the Federation, Was Cast by Sandi Salkić

(Patria) - The House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina late last night, after a lengthy and heated debate, elected the members of the Management Board (MB) of RTV FBiH.

Fifty representatives voted in favor, 41 voted against, while there were no abstentions. The decisive vote was cast by Sandi Salkić of the People's European Union (NES) of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Patria reports.

Four candidates were elected to the MB of RTV FBiH - Zoran Krešić from the Croatian people for a one-year term, Adnan Huskić from the group of other peoples for a two-year term, Daniela Gogić from the Serbian people for a three-year term, and Medina Mujić from the Bosniak people for a four-year term.

Let us recall that the opposition found the name of journalist Zoran Krešić particularly contentious, due to his glorification of the so-called Herzeg-Bosnia and calls for the abolition of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. His scandalous appearance on RTV HB was also condemned by the U.S. Embassy. However, even that was not enough for the parliamentary majority, which offered him its generous support.

At the session, it was also decided that Daniela Gogić would be the chairperson of the MB of RTV FBiH.

Edina Gabela (Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina) was relieved of her duty as Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Azra Okić (SDP BiH) was appointed in her place.

In addition, the representatives voted on the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Contributions, which, among other things, reduces the total contribution rate by 13.25 percent, i.e., by five and a half index points, from 41.5 percent to 36 percent.

Specifically, the contribution rate for pension and disability insurance borne by the employer is reduced by three and a half index points, as is the contribution rate for health insurance borne by the employer by two index points.

The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as the proposer, explained in its rationale that the amendments to this law are part of a set of fiscal measures it plans to implement based on its work programs, particularly relating to new laws on contributions and income tax.

The proposer cited as reasons for adopting the law on contributions the relief of the economy and the reduction of labor costs, especially considering employers who will face higher costs in 2025 due to payments in accordance with the Decision on the Minimum Wage Amount.

Instead of judge Seada Palavrić, who is retiring, Larisa Velić was elected as a judge of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Patria reports.

Also, the following were appointed as members of the Independent Board: Amar Hadžiomerović, Samir Mehić, Melisa Ahmić, Viktorija Damjanović, Ivan Vegar, Mladen Milosavljević, and Arben Murtezić.
