A little over two years ago, Nermin Ogrešević and the People's European Party (NES) were part of an eight-party coalition that presented itself as an alternative to SDA, and in the pre-election and short post-election period, they created a narrative in favor of foreign interests that wanted to remove the obstacle known as SDA and Bakir Izetbegović.
Soon, in NES's stronghold of Cazin, they realized that this was all just a smokescreen hiding solely the desire for the chairs of the leaders of the Trojka project and the desire of American Ambassador Michael Murphy to have subordinates for the realization of his projects. Although they left the Osmorka (Eight) principled and state-building stance aside, the damage was already irreparable, as Murphy and his contractor Christian Schmidt already had enough information which they used to change election rules, suspend the constitution, seize political will, and so on.
All of this was enough for the Trojka to impose itself as the government in the Federation and be installed as a partner to Milorad Dodik and Dragan Čović at the state level. In the months and years that followed, NES launched salvos of accusations and criticisms against the Trojka.
However, they calculated that by leaving the Osmorka, to which they had nevertheless given power through joint participation in the elections, they would be untouchable within the opposition pro-Bosniak bloc. They made this clear when, through SDA's wrong political decisions in Mostar and USK, they broke the agreement between the two parties.
NES has also behaved like a grieving bride since those events, justifying all its politically poor decisions for the state with those two moves by SDA, forgetting that they were part of the story intended to get rid of SDA.
As time passed since the General Elections, NES continuously criticized the policies of the Trojka and its figureheads, but almost programmatically came to the Trojka's aid whenever it was in trouble and needed it.
Thus, they regularly vote for the budget of the Federation proposed by that imposed Government, which they refused to join on principle and for state-building reasons. They voted today, and last year, despite serious criticisms of that budget and even more serious funds going to Čović's cadres and institutions.
Although they criticized and seriously called them out, they regularly responded.
Ogrešević, on Face TV, along with the leader of the Party for BiH, Semir Efendić, explained the reasons for leaving the Osmorka and stated that the Trojka would not cooperate with the opposition from the RS because it favored Dodik and wanted to secure positions.
In August 2023, Ogrešević explained again: "The Trojka with Konaković was strictly interested in getting into positions without any mission. They entered that government thinking it was important to build their careers. They are not seriously dealing with the situation."
And then, in April 2024, the entire leadership of NES responded to Elmedin Konaković's attempt to play the role of the leading Bosniak in the region. And even then, it was suspected that NES, while playing in the opposition's jersey and under the guise of patriotism, was very prone, for reasons known to them, to excursions into Trojka's policies.
In the last quarter of last year, around the local elections, there was talk of a reconstruction of the FBiH Government and NES joining it, but it is clear that this extra-marital political relationship did not find a way to achieve its intentions. Even when an opposition bloc was formed in Sarajevo that mutually supported candidates for mayors (SDA, DF, SBiH), NES refused to join, but allegedly gave support separately.
Today, the extra-marital relationship of Ogrešević's or Hozan's NES with the Trojka has been formalized, after representatives of NES went to the president of NiP, Elmedina Konakovića, to save the Trojka for a pastry and join them in betraying the state for a pastry.
I am not a doctor, but I can sense that all the prominent officials and the leadership of NES suffer from serious political amnesia, so I am just waiting to see what kind of cheap statement they will send us about their reasons for political sex with the Trojka. I assume they will partly play the role of the grieving bride rejected by SDA again, but it is questionable how sensible it is to choose Konaković, whom they accused of betraying the state, as a lover. What is more difficult, betraying a coalition agreement or the state?
And finally, a few sentences about another principled political phenomenon. With the votes of the serious SDA base in central Bosnia, or more precisely in Tešanj, Šemsudin Mehmedović entered the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
However, he also found fault with SDA, so he decided to move Forward, how else but for the sake of the state. He gathered everyone who had left or been expelled from SDA in cities, municipalities, and local communities and formed a party. And from that moment on, he became a chronicler of all of Trojka's failures and betrayals.
If we didn't delete emails, we could probably publish a serious book titled "Chronicle of Šemsa's Criticisms of Trojka." There was no decision at the state level that Mehmedović did not critically comment on.
Then he went to Konaković, settled down, because political deals are not made for an empty pocket, and told us from Klix that he does not want any deals and will therefore be against Konaković's dismissal.
And how much he is against deals was shown in the local elections when the Forward member Mehmedović put forward the time-worn Nedžad Koldžo to help SDP's Benjamina Karić win the race for mayor of Novi Grad Sarajevo.
Who he made a deal with regarding Benjamina, I don't know, but it is more than clear that, like NES, he made a deal with Konaković to stop the fall of traitors and profit from a few more budget pastries. Undoubtedly Forward – for whom, for Dino!
