
(Patria) - Elections for the City Assembly of Belgrade and in 14 other cities and 74 municipalities and city municipalities are being held in Serbia today.
Polling stations opened at 7:00 AM and will close at 8:00 PM, which is also when the election silence ends. According to CESID/Ipsos estimates, turnout in Belgrade, Novi Sad, and Niš is lower compared to the turnout in the 2023 elections.
14 lists are participating in the elections for the City Assembly of Belgrade, the same number as for the Assembly of Novi Sad, and there are 11 lists in Niš.
In addition to these three cities, elections are being held in 12 other cities: Subotica, Zrenjanin, Kikinda, Vršac, Pančevo, Sombor, Sremska Mitrovica, Valjevo, Požarevac, Jagodina, Užice, and Čačak.
Elections are also being held in 17 Belgrade municipalities and in 51 other municipalities in Serbia.
CESID: Turnout by 5 PM 34.8 percent
By 5 PM, turnout in Belgrade was 34.8 percent, in Novi Sad 38.5 percent, and in Niš 36.9 percent, CESID and Ipsos announced today.
As stated, 45.1 percent turned out for the Belgrade elections in December by 5 PM.
In Novi Sad, according to estimates, 38.5 percent of voters had cast their ballots by 5 PM, while in December, 45.3 percent voted, RTS reports.
Regarding Niš, according to estimates, 36.9 percent of voters went to the polls. In December, 45.1 percent of registered voters cast their ballots by 5 PM, media outlets report.
