(Patria) - Elections are being held today in 89 cities and municipalities in Serbia, including for the Belgrade Assembly.

In addition to the Belgrade City Assembly councillors, elections are being held in 14 other cities and 74 municipalities and city municipalities.

Polling stations open at 7:00 AM and close at 8:00 PM, which is also the end of the election silence.

Fourteen lists are participating in the elections for the Belgrade City Assembly, the same number as for the Novi Sad Assembly, and there are 11 lists in Niš.

In addition to these three cities, elections will be held in 12 other cities: Subotica, Zrenjanin, Kikinda, Vršac, Pančevo, Sombor, Sremska Mitrovica, Valjevo, Požarevac, Jagodina, Užice, and Čačak.

In Belgrade, 110 councillors for the City Assembly will be elected, as well as councillors in 17 city municipalities.

In the capital, 1,602,150 voters are registered and will be able to vote at 1,265 polling stations.

The Belgrade City Election Commission has proclaimed 14 electoral lists that will appear on the ballot for the City Assembly.

According to the Law on Local Elections, the election commission must publish a report on the election results within 96 hours of the closing of polling stations.

Only electoral lists that have received at least three percent of the votes from the number of voters who voted can participate in the distribution of mandates, while this threshold does not apply to minority lists.

Elections will not be held in 64 cities and municipalities where they were held in December of last year.
