TRAGEDY AVERTED: Clearing of Cetinje – Budva road underway

(Patria) - A tragedy was narrowly averted in a landslide that occurred early this morning on the Cetinje – Budva road near Obzovica. The driver of a truck, Duško Janjušević from Nikšić, reduced his speed upon seeing a rock fall onto the road. Seconds later, a massive amount of material cascaded onto the road, but the driver and his passengers escaped unharmed, reports Cetinjski list.

According to information obtained by the RTV Cetinje team, traffic may be restored in the evening hours. Ljubiša Lazović, head of the road maintenance sector, explained that the situation is unpredictable and that a series of additional tests of the terrain above the road will be conducted, continuing into the next day, to complete the full remediation and ensure the safety of road users.

Drivers are advised not to travel via Obzovica, and the public will be informed in a timely manner about the normalization of traffic on the Cetinje – Budva route.
