Istria hit by unprecedented storm, there are also injured

(Patria) - Istria was hit by a severe storm around 7 PM when a very strong west wind began to blow, carrying everything in its path.

It also felled trees, and there are injured people, as well as material damage.

The civil protection issued a statement.

"Today around 7 PM, a storm hit the area of Istria County. The County Center 112 Pazin received the most reports from the area of Rovinj. In the Porton Biondi and Amarin campsites, trees fell, injuring several people. Tree falls were also recorded in the area of Pula and the wider area of Poreč. Emergency services are on the ground," announced the Directorate of Civil Protection, Index reports.

In Rovinj, the storm toppled umbrellas and even entire terraces.

The wind overturned and carried away even a wooden booth selling souvenirs.

There are huge waves at sea.

Stormy gusts of wind carried away boats.

There is also material damage in Pula, where the storm also raged.

The storm has also passed through Poreč.
