New protests held in front of the Serbian Government

(Patria) - The protest due to the arrest of environmental activists ended around 8 PM in front of the Serbian Government. Citizens and activists protested, dissatisfied with the arrest of three activists who were fined.

After speeches by Zlatko Kokanović from the association "Ne damo Jadar" and other activists, the gathered people blocked the intersection between Nemanjina and Kneza Miloša streets. Traffic was blocked, and Kokanović announced that they would remain indefinitely.

The organizers of the blockade in front of the Government threatened to take radical measures again if their colleagues are not released by Wednesday noon. The protest against the exploitation of boron and lithium in Serbia, titled "There will be no mine", was held yesterday at Terazije, and some citizens blocked two Belgrade train stations - Prokop and Novi Beograd. However, in the early morning hours, the police surrounded the citizens at Prokop to film them, and then removed them shortly after 5:30 AM.

Two activists were arrested because they refused to leave the station, Ivan Bjelić and Nikola Ristić, according to Marinika Tepić.

As N1 Srbiaj reports, activist Jevđenije Julijan Dimitrijević was also arrested. The police also dispersed citizens who were blocking the Novi Beograd station. The Ministry of Internal Affairs did not announce any arrests, relaying the statement of Minister Ivica Dačić that the police would file charges against all those who caused "disruption of international public transport and endangerment of citizens' safety". According to the latest information, the activists have been fined, with Bjelić sentenced to 40 days and others to 30 days each.
