Mother who threw baby in trash can identified

(Patria) - The mother of the newborn whose body was found in a trash can in Block 9 in Podgorica has been identified, the Higher State Prosecutor's Office announced, reports Rtcg.

After the public was informed that the body of a newborn was found in a trash can in Podgorica yesterday, the Higher State Prosecutor's Office, in cooperation with the Police Directorate, undertook a series of measures and actions to determine all the circumstances of the incident.

As stated in the VDT's announcement, the conducted prosecutorial-police activities resulted in the identification of the newborn's mother, so the proceedings in the said case were transferred to the jurisdiction of the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, given that there is a basis for suspicion that a criminal offense within the jurisdiction of that prosecutor's office has been committed.

To remind, the dead baby in a bag was found by a "Čistoća" (Cleanliness) worker while he was performing his work task. At first, he thought it was a doll, but he soon realized it was a dead newborn boy.
