(Patria) - Regarding the statement by Milorad Dodik, which was taken over without any fact-checking by irresponsible individuals for the sake of collecting cheap political points at the expense of Montenegro's institutions, I categorically and unequivocally reject the claims that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, and thus any diplomat, was engaged to prevent Interpol from issuing a red notice for Milorad Dodik and Nenad Stevandić, announced this morning the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, Ervin Ibrahimović.
"We remain committed to the principles of the rule of law, good neighbourly cooperation and respect for international law. I condemn any attempt to use the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro in political feuds and speculations that have no basis in facts.
In intensive communication with colleagues from the Government, I also received assurances that no one from other departments was involved in this procedure in any way.
Any 'engagement' from an official address in Montenegro with the aim of preventing Interpol, at the request of Bosnia and Herzegovina, from issuing a warrant for Milorad Dodik (or any other individual) would represent yet another interference in the internal affairs of another state and a gross and very harmful violation of good neighbourly relations with our friendly Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Good neighbourly relations can only exist if they are institutional and based on mutual respect, respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty, which also implies full mutual respect for the Constitution and laws, as well as decisions of state bodies and courts.
In this context, Montenegro respects every verdict of the courts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the right of everyone to review the verdict before higher judicial instances, within the framework of the Constitution and laws," stated Ibrahimović.
As the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Montenegro and Minister of Foreign Affairs, he emphasised that his position and that of the Government of Montenegro are clear.
"Full respect for the territorial integrity, sovereignty, Constitution and laws of Bosnia and Herzegovina and opposition to any action that undermines the constitutional order and undermines the territorial integrity and sovereignty of BiH.
Peace and stability in the region are important for all of us and have no alternative.
As the President of the Bosniak Party, I responsibly claim that we will continue to oppose secessionist, anti-constitutional and anti-Dayton actions in Bosnia and Herzegovina and any support for such actions from Montenegro, especially by officials of the authorities in Montenegro, and that we will not allow anyone to sit in the locomotive of our European train at the finish line of EU integration and brake our European path from it.
Long live Montenegro, long live Bosnia and Herzegovina and the friendship of our two states, and long live the common, prosperous and European future of all countries of the WB. See you in the EU," stated Ibrahimović.
