
(Patria) - In Serbia, a state of emergency has been declared in nine municipalities due to snowfall, the Emergency Situations Sector of the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced.
A state of emergency has been declared throughout the area of Loznica, Valjevo, municipalities of Osečina, Mali Zvornik, Krupanj, Vladimirci, Majdanpek, Sjenica, as well as in part of the municipality of Prijepolje.
Since the beginning of snowfall, January 4, until this morning at 6:00 AM, the Emergency Situations Sector had 72 interventions, involving 175 firefighters-rescuers with 77 vehicles, 19 pumps, and three boats.
The largest number of interventions related to the removal of fallen trees - 45, pumping water, assisting emergency medical teams, and since January 4, 30 people have been evacuated.
