(Patria) - As of the first day of 2025, free public transport has been introduced in the Croatian town of Samobor for all citizens and visitors.
A total of 17 bus lines are available, six of which are new, and a new circular line connecting the narrower center of Samobor has also been introduced.
The City of Samobor says that the introduction of free transport marks "a new era in the city's mobility" which will facilitate citizens' daily commutes and improve the quality of life.
The circular line connecting the narrower center of the city was highlighted as the biggest novelty from Samobor.
"Mayor Petra Škrobot, Deputy Mayor Petar Burić, and their associates took a ride on the circular line this morning," stated the City of Samobor.
- We entered the New Year with a lot of optimism and a positive change, new free public transport, which was long promised and is now realized with the aim of further improving the quality of life for citizens.
I believe that free transport and the new network of lines will make it easier for our citizens to travel around Samobor, which is more connected from today - said Škrobot.
The most important thing, she adds, is to hear feedback from citizens.
- We will listen to their needs and see what needs to be adjusted according to possibilities, in order to make the transport as efficient as possible, and thus our citizens as satisfied as possible - said the mayor.
The timetable for all 17 lines, as well as the network of bus lines with bus stops, are available on the official website of the City of Samobor.
