Croatia fined €87,000 for behaviour of its fans in Berlin

(Patria) - UEFA's disciplinary body has decided to fine the Croatian Football Federation (HNS) due to the behaviour of some fans at the first round match of Group B of the European Championship between Spain and Croatia, played on 15 June in Berlin.

Following a disciplinary report, the HNS responded regarding the mentioned incidents, and UEFA's disciplinary body at today's session decided on a high financial penalty, the HNS announced.

The HNS was fined €63,875 for fans throwing plastic cups and €24,000 for lighting flares, for a total amount of €87,875.

The HNS will, in accordance with procedure, request an explanation of the decision, after which a decision on a possible appeal will be made.

The HNS thanked the record number of fans who supported the Croatian national football team in one match, for their impeccable support and cheering without any form of racism or discrimination.

It also asked fans to refrain from throwing objects and lighting flares in upcoming matches so that the great atmosphere is not overshadowed by such fines.
