Croatia: Commemoration for Massimo Savić held at the Croatian National Theatre

(Patria) - Family, friends and colleagues bid farewell to singer-songwriter Massimo Savić, who died at the age of 61, in the building of the Croatian National Theatre (HNK) in Zagreb.

In the lobby of the HNK, a book of condolences was opened, signed by numerous participants of the commemoration, including a significant number of well-known musicians from Croatia and neighbouring countries.

During the commemoration, Massimo's band performed instrumental versions of his greatest hits and a cross-section of his rich career, from songs such as "Stranac u noći" and "Sjaj u tami" to his latest hits "Mali krug velikih ljudi" and others.

Friends and colleagues Aljoša Šerić from the band Pavel, Ivan Dečak, the lead singer of the band Vatra, and others bid farewell to Massimo with speeches.

In front of the entrance to the "Vatroslav Lisinski" Concert Hall, citizens have been bidding farewell to the beloved musician for days, and the lighting of candles and laying of wreaths in front of Lisinski will remain available until 31 December.

Massimo died on 23 December, after a two-year battle with lung cancer.

Massimo's final farewell will be on Tuesday, 3 January, at the City Cemetery in Zadar.
