(Patria) - An unfortunate incident was recorded on Thursday morning in a forest area near Križevci, where a 54-year-old man was stung to death by hornets, the Koprivnica-Križevci police reported on Saturday.
While preparing firewood, the 54-year-old man was stung by hornets, after which he felt unwell.
Despite prompt medical assistance, the man died at the scene.
Police officers conducted an on-site investigation. The coroner examined the body, which was transported to the Pathology Department of the Bjelovar General Hospital for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
Police confirmed that there are no elements of criminal offense in this tragic case, Hina reports.
