Hill announces US will sell Kosovo anti-tank missiles, Vučić disappointed

(Patria) - Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić met with United States Ambassador Christopher Hill, who informed him of the American decision to accept Pristina's request and sell Kosovo "Javelin" anti-tank missiles.

Ambassador Hill informed Vučić of the American decision to accept Pristina's request to purchase "Javelin" anti-tank missiles.

As Ambassador Hill stated, the State Department will forward this request from Pristina to the US Congress, thus beginning the official procedure.

Vučić said that this information is a great disappointment for Serbia, but that our country, together with the US, will work on preserving Serbian-American relations.

"It is of utmost importance for us that peace in the region is not disturbed, and Serbia will continue to behave responsibly and contribute to stability in the Balkans," said Vučić.

Vučić and Hill also discussed the further improvement of Serbian-American political and economic relations, Serbia's international position, the situation in Kosovo and the continuation of the dialogue with Pristina, as well as current geopolitical developments, according to Vučić's cabinet.

At the meeting, Vučić emphasized that Serbia is interested in strengthening economic cooperation with the US at all levels and expects an increase in American investments in our country, given the good experiences of existing investors.
