HDZ in Croatia wins one more seat

(Patria) - The State Election Commission of the Republic of Croatia processed a total of 99.67 percent of the votes after the parliamentary elections, and the results remained more or less the same as during the previous counts.

After almost all polling stations were counted, the only difference made was in the context of the HDZ's results, which overnight rose to 61 seats, or 34.42 percent of the vote.

The "Rivers of Justice" coalition led by the SDP remained at 42 seats, and the Homeland Movement at 14.

Representatives of Most will have 11 seats, while the biggest surprise, in the form of the party Možemo, remained at 10 seats.

What is interesting is that the HDZ, led by Andrej Plenković, won the most votes in a total of nine out of 11 electoral districts in Croatia.

The coalition led by the HDZ won by far the largest number of votes in the fifth electoral district, where Slavonski Brod stands out among the larger centers. In this area, the HDZ won 42.77 percent of the vote. A similar situation is in the fourth electoral district, where Osijek is one of the largest centers, and there the HDZ won 41.81 percent of the vote.

A similar situation is in the Dalmatia region, where the HDZ won in the ninth and tenth electoral districts. Also, the HDZ recorded a convincing victory in the 11th electoral district, which refers to abroad, and there they managed to collect 79.80 percent of the vote.

"The elections were held in quite challenging circumstances, firstly because it was the third time we sought the trust of citizens, and secondly because we had to conduct the campaign in the context of a flagrant violation of the Constitution. What is concerning is that even tonight, after we defeated them for the third time, they are still talking about some quasi-national salvation government," Plenković said after the elections.

When it comes to the SDP, i.e., the "Rivers of Justice" coalition, it won the largest number of votes in two electoral districts: in the eighth electoral district (Pula, Rijeka) where they had 33.36 percent of the vote, and in the third electoral district (Varaždin) where the SDP won 36.75 percent of the vote.
