Grlić Radman on Milanović: In Washington he is smaller than a poppy seed, but at home he plays the hero

(Patria) - Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlić Radman stated yesterday that the summit in Dubrovnik will send a message of support to Ukraine, despite disagreements between Banski dvori and Pantovčak in their approach to the Ukrainian-Russian war.

Dubrovnik will host a summit of Southeast European countries in support of Ukraine on Wednesday, following earlier summits held in Athens and Tirana. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will also attend.

It has been announced that a long-term cooperation agreement between Croatia and Ukraine will be signed, along with a joint declaration by the participating countries condemning Russian aggression against Ukraine.

- We expect the region to unite in signaling support for Ukraine - Grlić Radman told reporters.

He added that the summit will send a strong message of solidarity and support for Ukraine.

- With this, Croatia strengthens Croatian-Ukrainian friendship and has demonstrated it not only humanitarianly, financially, militarily, politically, and diplomatically, but also concretely by organizing two conferences, the parliamentary Crimea Platform two years ago and the donor conference on demining last year - Grlić Radman emphasized.

Asked how strong Croatia's support for Ukraine actually is, given that President Zoran Milanović did not give consent for the participation of soldiers in support of the NATO mission to assist that country, Grlić Radman reiterated that Milanović had agreed at the gathering in Washington and that he "knowingly, without batting an eye, lies to the Croatian public."

- At the summit in Washington he is smaller than a poppy seed, but when he comes to Croatia, he plays the hero. He should represent Croatian interests even outside Croatia, not confuse the Croatian public - Grlić Radman said.
