Fire rages between Cetinje and Budva, only rain can extinguish it

(Patria) - The fire that broke out in the hills between Cetinje and Budva continued to spread, and today's action by the Protection and Rescue Service was unsuccessful.

The head of the Cetinje Protection and Rescue Service, Miloš Ćećanović, told Radio Cetinje that the seven-member team of this service was forced to return due to the inaccessibility of the area and unfavorable conditions on the ground.

He stated that the fire is large-scale, but for now it is not near residential buildings.

"We fought the fire for hours to break the fire line. However, strong winds caused it to spread very quickly. I did not dare to take risks because the wind was constantly changing direction," said Ćećanović.

He added that they called the helicopter of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and returned home.

"Now we are waiting to approach from the ground and extinguish it, if the area of the Cetinje municipality is affected. I think only rain can extinguish this large fire," said Ćećanović.
