Gordan Jandroković nine years at the helm of the Croatian Parliament

(Patria) - Gordan Jandroković is the longest-serving Speaker of Parliament in independent and sovereign Croatia.

As of today, Jandroković has held this position for nine full years, in his third term.

He was first elected Speaker of Parliament on May 5, 2017, then in July 2020, and again in May 2024.

"Nine years at the helm of the Croatian Parliament. Thank you all for your trust and support," he briefly stated in a social media post.

Considering that the first multi-party Parliament was constituted 36 years ago, on May 30, 1990, Jandroković's term represents a quarter of that period.

In his rich political career, Jandroković has been elected as a Member of Parliament multiple times, and additionally, he served as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister when Croatia became a member of NATO.
