(Patria) - FK Željezničar expresses deep concern regarding the events that marked the quarter-final match of the BiH Cup between FK Sloga Doboj and FK Željezničar, played in Doboj, both during and after the match.
"The entire sports public in Bosnia and Herzegovina had the opportunity to witness the circumstances under which our club was eliminated from the competition. The fact that obvious refereeing errors against FK Željezničar have been recurring for the second consecutive season is particularly concerning, seriously questioning the regularity of the competition and trust in the decision-making system.
FK Željezničar hereby once again calls on the competent bodies of the NS/FS of Bosnia and Herzegovina to thoroughly analyze and review the decisions on delegating referees, as well as specific refereeing decisions that directly affect the course and outcome of matches, and the integrity of the competition itself.
At the same time, the club most strongly condemns the physical assaults on our players and the team manager that occurred immediately after the end of the match. Physical violence against participants in sports events is absolutely unacceptable and represents a serious violation of the basic principles of sport. We expect the competent authorities to promptly identify the responsible persons and take appropriate disciplinary and legal measures.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time such incidents have occurred in matches against FK Sloga Doboj. We also recall the unacceptable treatment of our fans during the match of the 24th round of the WWin Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which further confirms the need for a serious and institutional reaction from the competent bodies.
We also remind that FK Željezničar met the request of FK Sloga Doboj on Monday and agreed to postpone this match, acting in the spirit of fair play and protecting the health of the players".
FK Željezničar will continue to consistently advocate for fair and honest sport, protection of the integrity of the competition, and the dignity of our club and all who wear and defend the blue jersey.
Finally, we invite our fans to come in as large numbers as possible to the upcoming match of the 25th round of the WWin Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina and to show unity, strength, and love for our club with their presence, support, and dignified cheering.
