Explosion at Valjevo factory, several workers injured

(Patria) - A mine exploded in the "Krušik" plant in Valjevo.

According to RTS, eight workers were injured, while the factory states that three were injured.

"During the explosion of a mine in HK "Krušik" in Valjevo, in the morning, eight workers sustained minor injuries", confirmed to RTS by the Valjevo Police Department.

They received medical assistance at the hospital's Emergency Center.

The Valjevo factory announced that the accident occurred in the mine loading plant, and the workers were injured while working with primers.

According to the "Krušik" statement, three people were injured.

"The event did not have wider repercussions, thus avoiding more serious injuries and material damage", the statement reads.

According to the statement of Dr. Zoran Milosavljević, Deputy Director of the Valjevo Health Center, none of the injured workers were kept in the hospital.

The most serious of the injuries sustained by the injured was a ruptured eardrum. At the time of the explosion, 20 employees were at work in the plant.

The competent prosecutor's office is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the explosion.
