Efendić on the Počitelj Bridge: HDZ directed us towards Croatia instead of Neum, only one more illuminated cross is missing!

(Patria) - The President of the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Semir Efendić, reacted strongly to the ceremony of opening a section of the highway near Počitelj.

Here's what he wrote:

The construction of the highway through BiH began with the allocation of funds from BH Telecom's profit on the Sarajevo - Zenica section. HT Eronet did not contribute anything for these purposes, although the company is owned by the Government of the Federation of BiH, just like BH Telecom.

When the first kilometers of the highway were seen and started to be used, the work continued, and lenders showed readiness to approve loans for the construction of Corridor 5C through BiH.

Then the politics of the HDZ came into play, and the leniency from Sarajevo, so instead of continuing to build the highway from Zenica towards the north and Europe, funds began to be allocated and loans taken for highway sections in Herzegovina, not from Mostar towards Sarajevo, but from Mostar towards Croatia.

It was in vain that the late professor Ibrahim Bušatlija explained that the highway must go towards Neum, the only BH city on the sea, and not towards Zvirovići; the HDZ pushed its agenda.

The consequence of this is this unnecessary bridge that has ruined the landscape of Počitelj, and the enormous cost of its construction was not paid by the remnants of Herceg-Bosna who are holding an opening ceremony today with Andrej Plenković, but of course by the citizens of Sarajevo, Zenica, and Tuzla Cantons, which do not have a single millimeter of highway.

Therefore, the highway is not being built from Mostar towards Sarajevo, but towards Croatia, and that is why the Prime Minister of Croatia is coming to the opening. Is there any need to emphasize that the Trojka coalition, composed of NiP, SDP, and NS, has gifted the HDZ Autoceste Federacije BiH in addition to Ceste FBiH, which they have long managed, so now they have started naming bridges in the Federation of BiH. The only thing missing is for them to place a large cross on this bridge and illuminate it at night, Efendić wrote.
