Đuričković for NAP on Vučić's commendation of Mandić: As long as the policy of the destabilizing trio is alive, there will be no peace here

(Patria) - Vučić's awarding of the President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Andrija Mandić, at a time when the same regime in Belgrade is arresting, mistreating, and persecuting Montenegrin citizens, represents a scenario that has been seen many times before in history,” assessed Miloš Đuričković, international secretary of the Social Democrats and official of the European Alliance, in a statement to Patria, commenting on the commendation given to Mandić by the President of Serbia, as well as the mistreatment to which Montenegrin director and columnist for the Analitika portal Danilo Marunović was subjected yesterday.

Namely, members of the Security Information Agency of Serbia broke into Marunović's hotel room around 9 AM and took him in for questioning. The director and columnist was in Belgrade for the performance of his play Gospoda Glembajevi. The reason for the multi-hour interrogation was allegedly Marunović's latest column, which was published on Wednesday on the Analitika portal under the title
“Vidovdan against Vučić”.

After being released from the premises of the BIA, Marunović was deported from Belgrade to Montenegro, and banned from entering Serbia for a year. The play Gospoda Glembajevi was nevertheless performed at the National Theatre in Belgrade, to ovations and the delight of the audience.

Unlike the exhausting and repressive treatment of Marunović, a prominent Montenegrin artist, who was not protected even by the Montenegrin authorities, Vučić awarded Andrija Mandić for the second time. Symbolically, precisely on Vidovdan, he received recognition for "exceptional contribution to strengthening friendly relations between Montenegro and the Republic of Serbia and dedication to preserving Serbian identity,
culture, and tradition in Montenegro".

Mandić, in his usual manner, boasted about Vučić's gift on the social network X, calling himself, as he often does, a Serbian politician in Montenegro.

“Vidovdan is, both today and throughout history, a day when a message of unity, harmony, and togetherness of the Serbian people is sent, and precisely for this reason, this morning in Belgrade, as a Serbian politician in Montenegro, I want to emphasize that in these turbulent times for the whole world, the Serbian people should be united around what our great and glorious ancestors left us as a legacy.

As I was awarded the Order of the Serbian Flag of the First Degree on the occasion of Vidovdan in 2021, today I want to express my sincere gratitude to the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, for awarding me an honorary recognition for the exceptional contribution to strengthening friendly relations between Montenegro and the Republic of Serbia and dedication to preserving Serbian identity, culture, and tradition in Montenegro. I perceive this recognition as confirmation of the results of the reconciliation policy that I advocate not only in Montenegro, and I want us to continue building bridges of cooperation between Montenegro and Serbia, because the foreign policy goals of these two old states are directed towards a common European future,” stated
Mandić.

Đuričković tells NAP that we could say that, in accordance with tradition, Chetnik dukes in Montenegro receive decorations for betraying their own country and citizens.

“Mandić and Vučić are part of the same policy, just like Dodik, and therefore they deserve a common political destiny. This trio represents the key destabilizer of the situation in the region, and there can be no peace and progress here as long as their policy is alive,” Đuričković stated firmly.

As he emphasizes, their policy is based on nationalism and quite primitive and base divisions – such as who is a Serb, Montenegrin, Bosniak, Albanian, or who is Orthodox, Muslim, or Catholic.

“Their project is the ethno-federalization of the countries in the region, which would be followed by the administrative conquest of territories. That is precisely what Andrija Mandić received the award for,” the Patria interlocutor underlined.

He also points out that there are divisions that are good – divisions between good and bad people,
well-intentioned and ill-intentioned, fascists and anti-fascists.

“When the societies of the countries in the region manage to reject the current divisions and impose precisely this division, primarily between good and bad people, then the policy of the Vučić–Mandić–Dodik trio will suffer defeat and lose all meaning,” Đuričković concluded.
