Duraković on student protests in BiH: A case for collective psychiatry

Sarajevo students support Serbian students in protests against the Serbian regime. At first glance, this could be a humane action, an act of solidarity, a joint action against the tyranny of the authorities, and so on.

However, in this case, the protest of support for Serbian students is the crowning proof of the servility and unawareness of the BiH academic community, meaning both students and their professors. Yes, THE CROWNING PROOF OF THE ABSENCE OF DIGNITY, WHICH IS THE MAIN PROBLEM OF BOSNIAKS IN THE MAJORITY.

Here's why:

1. Serbia committed aggression against BiH and genocide against Bosniaks. Even today, Serbia flagrantly violates the sovereignty of BiH. Students in BiH (and their professors, of course) have never received support from Serbian students; on the contrary – even today, perpetrators of genocide are celebrated there, and they sing "Knife, wire, Srebrenica..."

2. Students of BiH (their professors) have never demonstrated against the apartheid imposed on them by Schmidt;

3. They have never protested against the disastrous laws on higher education;
4. They have never protested against the Nazi law and practice of TWO SCHOOLS UNDER ONE ROOF, etc.

5. The academic community (by which I mean in this context the absolute majority of teachers and students) lives like a herd – without consciousness, conscience, without any dignity.

The conclusion is as follows.

If Sarajevo students and their professors had proven how they fight for their own prosperity, the prosperity of their country, it would be logical to expect them to extend these ideals to a wider area.

However, by abandoning any action for their country and their own future, languishing like a herd, they only prove with this "action" how servile they are to those who committed genocide in BiH and still celebrate it today; they prove how they lack any academic maturity or elementary and crucially important human and national dignity.
