Tree kills woman in car near Sombor

(Patria) - One woman died in the strong storm that hit Sombor in northern Serbia and its surroundings today, confirmed Serbian Minister of Internal Affairs Ivica Dačić.

According to him, the woman died when a tree fell on the vehicle she was driving, and she succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

- We call on citizens to exercise maximum caution due to the storm in Serbia, which the Republic Hydrometeorological Service has warned about - Dačić said.

Hail, downpours, and strong winds hit Serbia this afternoon, and the Republic Hydrometeorological Service raised the weather alarm to the highest - red level for parts of the country.

According to the explanation on the RHMZ website, the red weather alarm indicates weather conditions that can cause material damage and be very dangerous to the safety of people and animals.
