(Patria) - The second round of local elections is being held in Croatia today, after which the names of the remaining 12 prefects and the mayor of Zagreb, which has the status of a city and a county, as well as 46 mayors and 62 municipal heads, will be known.
Polling stations are open until 7:00 PM, by which time the two-day election silence, which began at the first minute of Saturday, is in effect.
By 4:30 PM, 23.45 percent of voters had gone to the polls, according to data from the State Election Commission.
As in the first round, adult Croatian citizens residing in the municipality, city, or county for which the head, mayor, or prefect is being elected have the right to vote.
Voting can only take place in the place of residence, not elsewhere.
The first election results will be known one hour after the polling stations close, at 8:00 PM, and the winners and losers before 10:00 PM.
