(Patria) - The Presidency of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) decided last night to initiate a motion to dismiss Andrija Mandić from the position of President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Montenegrin media report.
One of the reasons for initiating the motion is yesterday's visit of the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, to Montenegro and his meeting with Mandić in the Parliament building.
Let us recall, the head of the DPS parliamentary group, Andrija Nikolić, stated in mid-January that he would submit an initiative to dismiss Mandić "very soon, at the moment when they assess that there is a chance for its realization".
The reason then stated was that by displaying the tricolor flag in his office when he hosted the Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral, Joanikije, in the Parliament, Mandić showed that he was working for the interests of another country.
DPS, Social Democrats, Croatian Civic Initiative, and Democratic Union of Albanians filed a criminal complaint against Mandić with the Special State Prosecutor's Office on January 15, because, as they stated, contrary to the Law on State Symbols, he displayed the flag of a foreign country in official premises.
