DF: Verify compliance with legal working conditions of discotheques, nightclubs and similar venues

(Patria) - The Democratic Front caucus in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly has submitted an initiative for the implementation of inspection supervision in all sports and concert halls, nightclubs, discotheques, and other places of public gathering in Sarajevo Canton.

The initiative calls for a check to determine whether the said venues have all the necessary operating permits, with a special focus on fire protection, and whether they meet the technical, sanitary, and all other legal conditions required for operation.

In light of the recent tragic event, a fire in a nightclub in North Macedonia in which dozens of young people lost their lives, many questions and dilemmas have arisen regarding the technical soundness of venues where public gatherings are organized and their fire protection.

This initiative seeks, for the purpose of prevention, to carry out inspection supervision and to inform the Sarajevo Canton Assembly and the wider public about it.
