Removal of barricades in northern Kosovo to begin today

(Patria) - The removal of barricades in northern Kosovo will begin today. Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said it could be done in two hours, whether in 24 or 48 hours, the barricades will be removed, but the mistrust has not been removed.

"Those who think they can play with the lives of Serbs and their survival should know that, just as we have not allowed it so far, all together, and especially you, we will not allow it in the future either," Vučić said at a meeting with Serbs from northern Kosovo.

Vučić read out the text given to him by the Serbs from the barricades, who said they did not want to go against their state, but demanded that the independence of Kosovo never be recognized.

"The bitter experience of the Serbian people with Kurti's regime and the trust of Serbs in the discriminatory Pristina institutions is not possible. Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija know that they can only count on their state, and on you personally. Your word as head of state is the only thing we can rely on. We ask for your word that we will have support for everything that follows. We have no faith in Kurti and cannot have it. If the arrests and terror against us continue, we will permanently close the north of Kosovo to the discriminatory Pristina institutions. Then we will set up barricades that will never be removed and which will be a border for Pristina that they will never cross. We ask for your clear confirmation that there will never be recognition of Kosovo and Metohija, in any form, and that Kosovo and Metohija is part of Serbia. We are not criminals, but hosts and family men who defend the thresholds of our homes. Your word is the only guarantee for us," stated Vučić.

"If this does not happen, all I can tell you, as I told you tonight, whatever decision you make, whether I agree with it or not, your country and I personally will be with you. As far as I am concerned, if they start arresting Serbs because of the barricades, you will have my personal support and the support of the state for everything you undertake afterwards," Vučić said.

He noted, in response to a journalist's question, that this has nothing to do with returning to institutions and that institutions are conditioned by the Brussels Agreement, which also implies the creation of the ZSO, which the Albanians have not fulfilled.
