Dačić: Two names will be removed from the list, one is Severina

(Patria) - Serbian Minister of Internal Affairs Ivica Dačić, appearing on TV Prva this morning, stated that there are no lists that would mandate the detention of Serbian citizens at the border, but rather that such a list exists only for foreigners.

“But today, these two names will be removed from it. One is Severina and another singer… President Vučić himself said it was stupid, so it will be removed,” Dačić “explained” how border procedures work.

“There have been and will be lists, and the goal is to protect the country and prevent it from being tarnished,” said Dačić, the Minister of Internal Affairs of a country that at the same time protests against misdemeanor proceedings in Croatia that sanction those who promote Greater Serbia and Chetnik ideology.

He added that, like any police force in the world, the Serbian police also have a number of lists at the border, European, American, and lists of criminals…

Referring to the “Severina case,” which caused a great stir, Dačić explained that every country has the sovereign right not to let someone in without any explanation.

“In Croatia, you listen to the radio in your car and go to jail, and that's not a problem; I haven't seen anyone from them taking Croatia back to the Middle Ages. (…) The police will always have lists of persons banned from entering the country or subject to increased surveillance, and the reasons are related to crime and terrorism.”

“Are you listening to what I'm saying, have you been listening to what I'm saying… People? What people? Do you think I sit in my office and watch who crosses the border, then say, okay, detain these one hour, these two, these six hours…”, Dačić became agitated.

“Then I go to America, I am the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and they tell me, can you wait… I wait 10 minutes, then they say, come with me to the immigration office, and they hold me for half an hour, and what is that… Am I Severina or not, it doesn't matter to anyone. These are standard procedures applied by all countries in the world; to someone, I am a problem, to someone else, it's what I say… This has happened to me in America 100 times, is that normal, has anyone complained, has anyone objected… Why can't I go to Kosovo?” Dačić asked.

Dačić also said that he thinks everyone should ask themselves what state the region is in if Severina is the main problem.

“If you have a situation where our patriarch cannot go to Kosovo and Metohija… I cannot go, our ministers cannot go to Croatia, our state officials, whenever they go to Croatia, are questioned at the border for half an hour to an hour. Do you remember that Croatia made a decision to ban certain Montenegrin politicians of Serbian origin from entering Croatia, and that's not a problem! That is democracy, that is Europe, that is freedom,” Dačić noted, assessing it as hypocritical and cynical.
