Is a consociational map being drawn at Hillsborough Castle: Is London preparing tea for the disappearance of BiH!?

The British are preparing tea again, only this time not for themselves but for the Western Balkans. Hillsborough Castle in Northern Ireland – the one they call “a place of peace and reconciliation” in tourist brochures – will be the stage for the latest performance on “the stability and future of the region” in October.

At the invitation of British Foreign Secretary David Lammy, ministerial planes from more than 15 European capitals will land in Belfast to, as they say, talk about peace, security, and a common future.

This would sound like civilizational progress if there wasn't that invisible signature in the whole narrative: Made in Colonial Office. Because what “reconciliation” and “stability” mean for London usually means a political mold for Bosnia and Herzegovina. A mold that essentially means the Cyprus model with a consociational stamp.

Because the mold being promoted these days is called consociational democracy. A model that has only survived successfully in practice in one place in the world – Northern Ireland – and even then, barely, with regular political crises and months-long institutional blockades. In translation: a system in which ethnic representatives share power by quota, not by votes. A system in which democracy has a lock, and the key is held by the mold creators, while unusable copies are held by ethnic leaders.

The British have already started a warm campaign – “look at Northern Ireland, look at how we reconciled a divided society.” What they don't say is that this model was introduced there after an armed conflict and has been maintained for decades by pressure, not by the free will of the citizens. And now they want to transplant it to Bosnia and Herzegovina, under the same banner of “peace and reconciliation”.

This is not accidental. Croatia, for example, sang the anthem of consociation in 10 out of 12 pages of its submission to Strasbourg. Schmidt's lawyer, a Briton, duly wrote that “power sharing” should not be touched. Monika Mijić, an illegal agent under the BiH flag, uttered the old colonial mantra about the “age-old equality of peoples.” And all of this is woven into a story that sounds sophisticated, but is essentially legally and historically false.

In this context, we must not forget the fact that in the past few years, we have heard the political figureheads of Naša stranka publicly advocating for a consociational model of organizing Bosnia and Herzegovina. And it is an open secret that Naša stranka, as a political project, originated in the British political kitchen.

Where is the problem? Consociation is not a cure for democratic illness – it is a substitute for democracy. A mechanism for a minority to permanently rule over a majority, under the guise of “preventing the domination of one people.” And this “prevention” is carried out in our case by tying the hands of the majority and reducing voting rights to a ceremony without political effect.

In this whole story, yesterday's meeting between the ambassadors of the Quint member states and the political project Trojka can also be observed. Because the leaders of Trojka also advocated for ethnic representation as the ultimate solution in the story of “legitimate representation” during the formation of the current state government.

And legitimate representation and the story of electoral law reform are the key to unlocking a stage towards a consociational model for Bosnia and Herzegovina, or a prerequisite for a third unit on the territory of BiH, which would then form Bosnia and Herzegovina with the RS and the rest of the FBiH.

This project is now evidently being conceived by the British, and carried out by the Americans and part of the Quint.

This is an old British craft – when they can't stop you from voting, they create a system in which your vote is meaningless. They once imposed an arms embargo on us so we couldn't defend ourselves, today they are imposing a democracy embargo on us so we can't liberate ourselves. And this is a prerequisite for us to gradually evaporate from the strait of the Serbian world and the Croatian Banovina.

Look at the operative conclusions in the case of “Kovačević,” because the verdict is not yet publicly available. Lawyers from London and Zagreb are inventing “unused domestic legal remedies,” although this has nothing to do with the claim or the “first instance” verdict from August 2023. The goal? To formally destroy the verdict and build a “legal basis” for permanent consociation on its ashes.

And Sarajevo? It still thinks this is a “technical matter,” that they are talking about “institutional balance” somewhere. It doesn't see that a constitution is being written from which there is no escape. It doesn't see that Hillsborough is not a tourist story but a school for politically tying hands. It doesn't see that a system is being prepared in which our elections will be as important as choosing the color of the wallpaper in the castle where decisions about us are made.

The democracy embargo is silent, there is no sound of planes or exploding shells. Just one signature in Belfast, a minister's smile, a color photograph…

And behind all of this is written the end, only for the quasi-policies that lead us, it seems that the end is the beginning, and therefore the pro-Bosnian public must closely follow the positions and messages of “our people” during the meeting organized by the British.
