Montenegrin Minister: Everything is being done to normalize electricity supply

(Patria) - Minister of Energy and Mining of Montenegro Saša Mujović said that the problem of power outages is regional in nature, and that it is a regional failure.

"Countries in the region are without electricity, it is about Albania, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina," he told the RTCG portal.

He adds that the transmission system operators are maximally focused, and efforts are being made to normalize the situation and restore the system.

He is of the opinion that this happened due to a large load.

"Consumption suddenly increased due to high temperatures. In a situation of high temperatures, air cooling is weaker, and high temperatures cause the line to fail," Mujović pointed out.

Our power system has restored voltage conditions, says Mujović, who believes that everything will return to normal very quickly.

"Electricity is reaching CEDIS, and CEDIS now has the job of directing it further to the cities. This may take time, because CEDIS has the job of resolving the situation in each city individually," Mujović pointed out and said that he cannot solve everything at once.

At the moment when the failure occurred, it is assumed that all consumers remained switched on, and we hope that during the restart, the load will not be high, and that it will not cause new failures.

"When everything will return to normal is debatable," Mujović concluded.
