MONTENEGRO Body of a man found in a river in a bag

(Patria) - The body found yesterday in the Šekular River near Berane is male, and the Higher State Prosecutor's Office is conducting additional investigation activities today.

This was told to RTCG Portal by VDT Bijelo Polje.

A local from Šekular said the body was in a bag.

“The legs were sticking out of the sack, and we could see it was a man. What we know is that it's not anyone from our village. We assume the body was brought here from somewhere,” said the local.

VDT could not provide information regarding these circumstances at the moment.

We remind that citizens reported to the Berane police yesterday that they had spotted a body in the riverbed.

"In the village of Šekular, about 18 kilometers from Berane and about 9.5 kilometers from the border with Kosovo, an lifeless body of an unknown male was spotted in the Šekular Riverbed," they emphasized in a statement from the Police Directorate.

The police state that in cooperation with the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje, they are undertaking measures and actions to determine the identity of the lifeless body, the cause of death, and all facts and circumstances related to the reported event.

"An on-site investigation is underway, and the body will be sent for autopsy," they concluded in the statement.
