Čović's callousness, 'political dynamite' and deception for naive Bosniaks

• How Dragan Čović is drawing an insurmountable "Maginot Line" between two peoples - Croats and Bosniaks, who should historically be close;

• The real goals of Čović's support for militant Zionism are to rewrite history and create an ideological platform for cheaply buying forgiveness for the committed crime of the Holocaust against Jews in Sarajevo and BiH.

Dragan Čović continues to build his militant-Zionist career. This successful career began back in June 2022 when he visited Jerusalem. At that time, Čović, in his capacity as a BiH parliamentarian, left a note with the text: "Peace for your people and peace for my people" at the "Wailing Wall".

With this, Čović implied that Bosniaks, like Palestinians, allegedly threaten the peace and security of Croats in BiH. This was Čović's dangerous message with far-reaching consequences, sent in white gloves, which left deep scars on the stability of Bosniak-Croat relations.

A year later, in May 2023, Čović brought several high-ranking representatives of the Israeli Government to the Mostar Economic Fair, which is merely a curtain behind which a much wider plan for the destruction of BiH is taking place.

One of them, Dan Oryan, a high-ranking diplomat from the Israeli MFA, announced in his speech that BiH has the potential to become a "little Israel". However, what went unnoticed by the public was the controversial statement that "hundreds, if not tens of thousands of Israeli tourists will soon be arriving in BiH..."

In the meantime, through the connections of Željana Zovko, a member of the European Parliament, Dragan Čović has come into close contact with the Jewish political lobby in Brussels. Željana Zovko is one of the closest and most loyal associates and sympathizers of ELNET, a Jewish political lobby that actively operates within the European Parliament and organizes various types of trips for individual groups of EU parliamentarians.

A few days ago, Čović met with the Israeli ambassador Galit Peleg. This routine meeting with a non-resident ambassador of a country, however, caused a real storm of reactions in BiH. One of the statements that considerably shook the public was that Čović, as the leader of a political party, stated that "BiH and Israel share common values".

Regarding this meeting, it should be recalled that the non-resident ambassador of Israel rarely or never meets with representatives of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We remember her for the scandal related to very inappropriate statements about the member of the Presidency of BiH Željko Komšić, thereby publicly indicating her close ties with Dragan Čović and the leadership of his party.

That was the first "political dynamite" placed under the international agreement and a hard-won balance of stability and security within Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Bosnia and Herzegovina finds itself in an unprecedented situation.

While on one hand Dodik, as the leader of SNSD, during his visit to Israel, calls Sarajevo "Hamas headquarters" in the "Jerusalem Post" and very rudely fuels public contempt in Israel against Bosniaks with statements like "Sarajevo produces ammunition for Hamas", on the other hand, Dragan Čović, the leader of HDZ BiH, euphemizes the barbaric Israeli slaughter in Gaza, and insidiously sends a chilling message to Muslims in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with an expression of unprecedented callousness and mockery due to our shock, sympathy, fear as we watch the hell of bodies intertwined and buried in mass graves, while in shock and deep human sorrow we watch a father holding a dead child in his arms.

The seed of Čović's callousness sprouted back in 1993 when, with the same expression on his face and icy cruelty, he misused the labor of Bosniak camp detainees in the "Soko" factory, which he managed at the time, in order to support and show his loyalty to the convicted leaders of the UZP (War Crime Convicts Association).

If you have ever more carefully scanned his face looking for any sign of mercy, kindness, or sympathy, any sign that he, for example, resists the smoke coming from the hell of Gaza's corpses, you could not find any of it. The only thing you could notice is that the eerily smooth and hard face is broken only by that terrible, small smile when he parrot-like stutters out some of his many lies.

Čović's stubborn malice and cruelty towards the slaughtered children of Gaza is just one of the terrible enigmas hidden behind his well-shaved face and that terrible little smile.

What is this man of such corrupt and subservient character preparing for this country, and what does he think, wish, or prepare specifically for Bosniaks?

We are poisoned by the futile hope that Čović might make a move that would encourage us and restore our trust in his "European story", in his "European leadership". From his story, all that remains is our feeling that it is merely a deception for naive Bosniaks.

The answer to what he is preparing cannot but be in the spirit of Čović's long-simmering contempt and bitterness towards Bosniaks.

The commemoration of Holocaust Remembrance Day in Mostar in January this year, however, showed the true truth of Čović's historical trauma. This event culminated everything that the real goals of his policy are, especially while the genocide in Gaza is ongoing.

Čović's remembrance of the Holocaust is not organically derived from what happened in the early war years of 1941 in Sarajevo when the NDH (Independent State of Croatia) regime, which he so fanatically follows, sent more than 10,000 Sarajevo and Bosnian Jews to their deaths.

This remembrance of Čović is constructed very calculatingly and with specific political goals. It is, in fact, about forging a great "historical deal" with the regime of the accused war criminal - Netanyahu.

In this trade, Čović does not only want to rehabilitate the fervent executioners of Jews during the Holocaust in the NDH. He seeks to rewrite history and buy moral "forgiveness", i.e., to obtain the same "forgiveness" that Orban in Hungary or Vučić and Dodik in Belgrade or Banja Luka began buying long ago for "big money" for the great crime committed against Jews during World War II.

Where, in fact, is the ultimate goal of this pervasive "instrumentalization" of the Holocaust that has been ongoing for over a decade? Its real goal is to rewrite history and create an ideological platform that Bosniaks were ultimately "Nazis" and that they are the ultimate culprits for the Holocaust, not the phalanxes of Ustasha or Chetnik barbarians.

Bosniaks do not bear the burden of Croat-Serb guilt for the Holocaust.

Dragan Čović, like his radical ideological twin Milorad Dodik, threatens and disrupts the general consensus on the universal significance of the Holocaust with their aggressive and calculating ideological pressures in order to rewrite the history of remembrance and find a new historical culprit in Bosniaks.

It should be emphasized that the remembrance of the Holocaust, especially among Bosniaks and their positive historical role, is of extraordinary importance as a standard through whose lens we can still today observe and assess not only the political or moral health of leaders, i.e., the moral health of society in general.

Because, through the Holocaust, we can more clearly see the ways in which all acquittals for UZP and the verdict for genocide are being overturned, and importantly - to discover what insidious plans are being hatched against us.

Dragan Čović's first major plan consists of strengthening the "Maginot Line" between Croats and Bosniaks, who, contrary to these divisions, should be much closer. Perhaps Čović's policy of consistent support for militant Zionism will have some success...

However, what is definitive: on this policy without moral credibility, a policy in which human conscience is broken, no vital, living, and long-term prosperous community can ever be built.
