Čović and Filipović in Zagreb again: Meeting with Plenković and two ministers, topics General Elections and Southern Interconnection

(Patria) - Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH PA) Dragan Čović and Member of the House of Representatives of the BiH PA Darijana Filipović met today in Banski dvori with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia Andrej Plenković, and the Minister of Economy Ante Šušnjar and the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman.

During the meeting, they discussed the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially in the context of the upcoming General Elections at the end of the year. Further priorities on the European path were also considered, with a special emphasis on the implementation of reform obligations and the realization of strategic projects of common interest to BiH and Croatia.

Čović commented on the current processes in BiH, emphasizing that the adoption of the remaining reform steps on the EU path is expected. He highlighted the importance of maintaining political stability in the run-up to the General Elections, as well as protecting the rights and legitimate representation of Croats at all administrative-political levels. He also emphasized the current efforts being made to reach the necessary agreement on the Southern Gas Interconnection, stressing the importance of its urgent implementation, which will lead to the necessary energy diversification of BiH. He pointed out that Croatian officials remain committed to implementing all the aforementioned priorities.

Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenković emphasized that the Government remains committed to supporting the Croatian people and Bosnia and Herzegovina in its entirety, especially in strongly advocating for BiH's European path. Regarding the further progress of BiH, he stressed that Croatia considers maintaining political stability, continuing reforms, and improving the electoral framework for the equal rights of the three constituent peoples to be key. He assessed the progress on the implementation of the Southern Gas Interconnection as a strategic energy project to be particularly important.
