Four becomes three, NBL dissatisfied with the relationship leaves the coalition

SARAJevo, (Patria) – The concept of the Four in Sarajevo could very quickly become a Three, and according to information from the Patria News Agency, the Independent Bosnian-Herzegovinian List of Ibrahim Hadžibajrić is leaving the whole story. 

Patria sources claim that for months, the Mayor of Old Town, Hadžibajrić, has been dissatisfied with the relationships with other partners, primarily People and Justice, Our Party, and SDP BiH. Hadžibajrić's NBL was part of the Four, although it does not have a single representative in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly. Fahrudin Pecikoza moved to SBB, and Amra Junuzović Kaljić was first an independent representative after leaving NBL, and then joined People and Justice. 

Hadžibajrić's NBL did not fare well in the city municipalities either, and it has councilors in Old Town, which is the base of this party, and in New Sarajevo. It did not pass the electoral threshold in New Town and Centar. One NBL councilor from Old Town made it to the City Council, which cannot influence the election of Mayor Bogić Bogićević. NIP, Our Party, and SDP BiH have 16 councilors, and the councilor from the Platform for Progress, Željko Majstorović, has joined them. 

That something was happening within the Four could also be read from the statements of the NIP president, Elmedin Konaković, given in an interview with Bakir Hadžiomerović on Politbiro. When asked if cooperation between the Four and SBB and DF was possible, Konaković said:

“The key process here will be led by SDP, NiP, and Our Party. SDP is currently the leader of this coalition, by status and number of votes. Therefore, SDP is the strongest party. We will lead this process, these three parties will gather other parties around this coalition. There is no great love between SBB and NiP, perhaps we clash ideologically. But, this will be the gathering of the opposition. I am convinced that DF must not and will never. SBB, if they are ready and express their desire, they will probably have this one-year test period, and then this position will be defined,” Konaković said.

It is indicative that SBB supported the formation of the new KS Government, although it is not officially part of the government. Whether SBB will soon replace NBL in the Four will be shown very soon.
