(Patria) - Several students and citizens were detained again in Serbia during the previous evening. The police continued to break up blockades. Civil disobedience continues, several locations are blocked, and public transport is not operating.
Civil disobedience has been ongoing for five days since June 28.
Students of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts (FDU) in blockade announced on social media that "their colleagues and friends were arrested".
Journalist Vuk Cvijić witnessed the violent police action in front of the Faculty of Law. As he told N1, students blocked the street, and suddenly the police arrived with vehicles and started beating the students.
"They retreated to the faculty, then they even reached the faculty, while commanders were shouting not to enter," Cvijić recounts.
Police officers in full riot gear attacked citizens after midnight at the fourth blockade, with several hundred participants, at the intersection of Ustanicka and Vojislava Ilića streets.
The blockade was proceeding peacefully, but half an hour after midnight, dozens of police officers in full riot gear appeared. Citizens moved from the roadway to the sidewalk, and the police began chasing them through the surrounding streets. Two stun grenades were also heard.
As students from the Faculty of Law in blockade announced on social media, the police "charged at students who were sitting peacefully".
