(Patria) - Dario Pekić, former Minister of Internal Affairs of Zenica-Doboj Canton and former candidate for the mayor of Visoko, also tried his hand at local elections in Croatia – this time as a candidate for the mayor of the Municipality of Šolta. However, the result he achieved is unlikely to be remembered fondly.
According to official data published on the izbori.hr website, Pekić finished last among the candidates, winning only 3.90 percent of the votes – meaning, only 50 voters placed their trust in him. For comparison, Nikola Cecić-Karuzić won the most votes – as many as 447, according to the latest available results.
Pekić became widely known to the public in Bosnia and Herzegovina during the local elections in Visoko, where he stood out with statements that caused numerous reactions. In television debates at the time, he addressed the former mayor Amra Babić as "my kitten", while he interrupted a journalist and refused to answer questions with comments that they were "stupid".
And while he was a "hit" on social media at the time, the results from Šolta show that voters have now remained immune to a similar performance.
