(Patria) - Muhamed Šišić, a two-time youth chess champion of Bosnia and Herzegovina, has written new pages in the history of the Gračanica Chess Club (ŠK).
In the First A League of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was played from August 26 to 31 in Bihać, this 17-year-old won the title of FIDE Master.
He became the first chess player from Gračanica to bear this title, thus confirming that effort and work pay off.
In 2023, Šišić was the BiH U18 champion and competed in the World Championship in Italy, while last year he became the national U20 champion.
ŠK Gračanica won seventh place among ten teams, but garnered all the sympathy at the championship.
Namely, they were the team that competed with the youngest lineup in the First A League. The team included as many as four youth players under 18, with two junior players also competing - sisters Milana and Maša Babić.
ŠK Bihać won first place, thus securing a place in the Premier Chess League of BiH.
