(Patria) - Serbian border police denied entry to Bosnia and Herzegovina activist Nedim Musić, stating he posed a security threat, but without specifying why.
- The inspectors at the border questioned me for an hour. I explained to them in a pleasant, relaxed conversation what we in 'Karton revolucija' do - promote coexistence, peace, and fight against nationalism and corruption.
They told me 'Bravo, well done!' and - denied me entry to Serbia - Musić told Radio Slobodna Evropa.
Musić was returning with his girlfriend from vacation in Montenegro. He says he will appeal the Serbian police's decision to deny him entry next week.
'Karton revolucija' is a platform, as stated on their official website, that brings together young people who point out some of the negative phenomena in Bosnian society.
Bosnian actor and writer Feđa Štukan had to return to Bosnia and Herzegovina on June 24 this year after he was denied entry to Serbia due to a 'negative security risk assessment'.
In July 2023, Štukan was detained for six hours upon exiting Serbia after supporting the 'Serbia Against Violence' protests.
According to the Law on Foreigners in Serbia, 'an unacceptable security risk exists if available data and information indicate that the foreigner advocates, incites, assists, prepares, or undertakes activities that threaten the constitutional order and security of Serbia'.
