(Patria) - A plane with its engine in flames was forced to make an emergency landing today at 10:28 AM at Sandro Pertini Airport near Turin, Italian media reported today.
The aircraft, an Airbus 320 operated by Volotea, took off from Dubrovnik in Croatia and was scheduled to land in Lyon at 10:40 AM, but the plane registered a technical problem near Turin, with one engine catching fire. The pilot then activated emergency procedures and received clearance for an emergency landing, reports the Corriere della Sera newspaper.
The plane landed on the runway without consequences for passengers and crew, and the disruption of normal airport activities lasted just under an hour.
Passengers traveling to France exited the plane and were transferred by shuttle buses to Lyon.
