Court of BiH Appellate Panel Confirms Convicting Verdict Against Milorad Dodik, One Year in Prison and Six Years Ban from Holding Office

(Patria) - The Appellate Panel of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has confirmed the first-instance convicting verdict against the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, in the case against him for non-compliance with the decisions of the High Representative, Istraga.ba has learned.

Following the first-instance verdict, Dodik initiated the undermining of the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina by passing laws in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska that annulled the work of SIPA, HJPC, the Court and the Prosecutor's Office of BiH.

This led to demands for him to be brought to the Court of BiH for investigation into undermining the constitutional order. Three months later, Dodik agreed to appear at the Court of BiH.

We remind you that on February 26, 2025, the Court of BiH issued a first-instance verdict in the criminal case of Milorad Dodik and others, acquitting the accused Miloš Lukić of the criminal offense of non-compliance with the decisions of the High Representative under Article 203.a, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in conjunction with Article 54 of the same Code, while for the accused Milorad Dodik, the Court rendered a convicting verdict, finding him guilty of committing the criminal offense of non-compliance with the decisions of the High Representative under Article 203.a, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Court imposed a prison sentence of one (1) year on the accused Milorad Dodik, as well as a security measure prohibiting him from holding the office of President of Republika Srpska for a period of six (6) years, from the date the verdict becomes final.

The Court of BiH has not yet officially published the second-instance verdict against the President of RS.
