APPEAL COURT BELGRADE DECIDED Husein Mujanović to be released soon

(Patria) - Former member of the Army of RBiH Husein Mujanović, convicted in Serbia for war crimes in BiH, will be released soon. The Belgrade Court of Appeal reduced the first-instance sentence from ten years to four and a half years in prison, confirmed the Ambassador of BiH in Belgrade, Aida Smajić, for the investigation.

The decision was officially published on the website of the Belgrade Court of Appeal.

"The Department for War Crimes of the Belgrade Court of Appeal, after holding a council session, rendered a verdict on December 22, 2022, Kž1 Po2 3/22, by which, partially accepting the appeals of the accused and his defense attorneys, it amended the first-instance verdict and convicted the accused Husein Mujanović for the criminal offense of war crimes against the civilian population under Article 142, Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of the SFRY to a prison sentence of 4 years and 6 months," reads the decision.

Husein Mujanović was arrested in July 2018 at the border crossing between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina and has been in custody since then!? In addition to Mujanović, Serbia is also prosecuting another member of the Army of RBiH, Osman Omanović, who is accused of mistreating Serbs in the Rasadnik camp in Gornji Rahić near Brčko.

By acting in this manner, Serbia violates all agreements and arrangements reached in the region regarding the prosecution of war crimes. Instead of cooperation and respect for neighboring countries, Serbia behaves aggressively, arrogantly, and vengefully, and it is regrettable that Bosnian-Herzegovinian institutions have been silently observing all this for years.
