Lawyer Lakić: Vučić committed several serious criminal offenses in Miami

(Patria) - Serbian lawyer Nikola Lakić stated today that during his stay in Miami, Aleksandar Vučić committed several serious criminal offenses and in case an investigation is launched against him, he could quite certainly expect up to 20 years in prison.

Lakić told the Beta agency that all of Vučić's subsequent statements about his health condition and illness only serve to cover up the diplomatic scandals he caused, as well as serious criminal offenses.

He stated that two similar events organized by the Republican Party Committee were held in Florida at the same time, attended by US President Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort and US Vice President J.D. Vance at the French restaurant Le Bilboquet.

“The RNC SPRING GALA, which Vučić planned to attend, are donor events organized by the Republican Party to raise money for the party's political activities, and attendance is mandatory and costs from $45,000 to a fantastic $1,000,000 per person.

Attendance at such events, as well as financing through donations or mandatory participation, is reserved exclusively for US citizens because foreign nationals are strictly prohibited from financing political activities in the US, either directly or through intermediaries, which Aleksandar Vučić did. If the allegations that he made the payment through intermediaries and attempted to attend these events using a false identity are true, then he has committed a series of serious criminal offenses,” the lawyer said.

“Thus, he violated the provisions of the FEDERAL ELECTION CAMPAIGN ACT-FECA, which provides for three criminal offenses in this case: Violation of the ban on foreign contributions (prohibition for foreign nationals, organizations, or governments to finance political activities in the US), as well as money laundering and conspiracy, because he made a payment to the National Committee of the Republican Party through an intermediary for participation in the event. He also violated the provisions of the FARA law because he did not register as a foreign agent of influence in the specific case, wanting to influence electoral and political activities in the US through financing and attendance,” Lakić explained.

According to him, it is quite certain that Aleksandar Vučić committed a series of diplomatic scandals and serious criminal offenses during his last visit to the US.

“Vučić is now a blackmailed person who can be forgiven for criminal offenses if he serves foreign interests and continues to destroy Serbia faster, stronger, better, and sell off its natural wealth and resources. He is now a big problem for the state of Serbia and its citizens because he will choose to preserve only himself between Serbia and his freedom and potential charges in the US,” assessed lawyer Lakić.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, as reported by pro-government media, suddenly felt unwell during his stay in the United States, after which he sought medical attention and, after examination, decided to cut his visit to the US short and return to Belgrade. Previously, Vučić announced that he would meet with US President Donald Trump twice during his stay in Florida.

Former diplomat of the FRY in the US, Nebojša Vujović, announced that the head of Trump's cabinet, Suzi Voyles, banned Vučić from entering the complex in Florida where the Republican Party's donor event was being held.
