Lawyer Anto Nobilo founded the political party Novi SDP

(Patria) - Croatian lawyer Anto Nobilo founded a political party he named Novi SDP.

Novi SDP was founded at today's meeting in Zagreb, and the party's initiators presented their manifesto calling for a "return to original social democracy".

The statement from the newly founded party states that the original SDP has been "misled" and has become a "victim of interest groups working directly against the interests of the idea and voters".

They are particularly critical of the "Možemo" platform, with which SDP shares power in Zagreb, calling this coalition a "capitulation of the idea of social democracy".

"At the initiative of members and sympathizers, faced with the impossibility of realizing original social democratic principles under the current leadership, we are returning social democratic ideas to their rightful owners - the citizens of Croatia, the voters of the left," the manifesto reads.

The movement calls on all members and sympathizers of SDP to join them in the fight for "authentic social democracy" and the building of a "political alternative worthy of the party's tradition".
