Resolution on Srebrenica: Illusion of Western civilizational values or bait for Bosniaks!

When former High Representative in BiH Valentin Inzko banned the denial of genocide in 2021, or rather imposed legal provisions that would punish those who publicly approve, deny, grossly trivialize, or attempt to justify the crime of genocide, crimes against humanity, or war crimes, our joy knew no bounds.

Only a few wiser heads remained silent or, conversely, warned that it could be a tripartite agenda in which Bosniaks would be punished for denying genocide, Serbs would get state property, and Croats would get the Election Law according to Dragan Čović's wishes.

Today, we can state that we rejoiced prematurely, because the denial of genocide has not stopped, and the BiH Prosecutor's Office, led by Milanko Kajganić, has only filed one or two indictments, skillfully avoiding indicting high-ranking government officials from Republika Srpska, primarily Milorad Dodik, who denies genocide daily. Publicly, it couldn't be more public!

But Bosniaks have learned nothing. We rejoiced prematurely again with the talk about the resolution on Srebrenica, which is to be adopted by the United Nations General Assembly. Currently, no one knows when the vote on the aforementioned resolution will take place, and the decision on it is constantly postponed for various reasons.

We rejoiced prematurely about the resolutions on Srebrenica in the nineties, yet they meant nothing to the Dutch battalion!

As colleague Avdić said, we are rejoicing about the UN resolution on the genocide committed in a UN protected zone!

Due to the rapidly deteriorating humanitarian situation and just a few days after the massacre on the school playground, on April 16, 1993, the United Nations Security Council adopted Resolution 819, declaring Srebrenica a "protected zone." A zone in which rivers of blood would later flow!

Now these same countries are playing with the feelings of the survivors, further burdening an already reduced resolution with amendments from Montenegro, which emphasize individual responsibility, although this is clearly stated in the draft resolution.

The impression is that the people who were subjected to genocide are being deceived again, and so far, we have only suffered damage. From the very news that the resolution would be adopted, revanchist Serbian and Republika Srpska officials are threatening in every way. From the claim that 'the Serbian people are not genocidal' to the claim that BiH, as it is, will disappear if the resolution is adopted!

Something similar to Karadžić's threat that Alija was leading the 'Muslim people to extinction'!

Today's threats endanger the security of Bosniaks in the ethnically cleansed entity of RS, where those who have returned to their homes do not have the right to a peaceful life, as they are a continuous target of these revanchist policies.

And just as we shook our heads a little and realized that this resolution is not binding and that, apart from moral satisfaction, it has no other significance, Russia intervenes and requests an extraordinary session of the UN Security Council. At it, we listened to Željka Cvijanović, who presented lies to the whole world, stating why BiH is not possible!

And all that was not enough to finally schedule a session and finally adopt the Resolution, a new postponement arrives. Optimists in this case pray to God, who else, that everything will be finished before the summer holidays.

And Aleksandar Vučić will not go on vacation. He will travel to New York again, because he sensed the moment when he could reach his goal. He is going for a new round of lobbying, while at the same time, Foreign Minister Elmedin Konaković is defending the cartel and those arrested in the "Black Tie" operation.

Only yesterday did he nonchalantly tell the media that he doesn't care what Dodik thinks and that there will be no talks or negotiations about the resolution. However, there are both, because one amendment from Montenegro has been accepted, but Konaković cannot know this, as he is not doing his job, but something diametrically opposed to his responsibilities!

Perhaps the resolution will allow the genocide in Srebrenica to be taught in schools somewhere in the West, or perhaps it is just rejoicing for a naive Bosniak!
