Your sudden interest in the fate of us remaining has greatly concerned us. You like to boast that you were a special choice of Ivica Račan, but Račan was probably a good man, but as a politician he lacked stature. One of the most miserable images from recent Croatian history was when Račan and Šuvar, as delegates of the Central Committee of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia, were designated to attend the VIII session of the Central Committee of the League of Communists of Serbia, at which Slobodan Milošević announced Serbian fascism and brutally overthrew Ivan Stambolić and Dragiša Pavlović. They were silent and could barely wait for the meeting to end.
It is truly incomprehensible that you have so decisively opted for the care of Croats in Bosnia. You were silent for decades, even when Tuđman was in Karađorđevo, and the scouts Boban and Karadžić were in Graz (May 6, 1992).
I told Franjo Tuđman that we Croats would have found it easier if he had met with Milošević in the Peć Patriarchate than in Karađorđevo. For us Croats, Karađorđevo was a symbol of the greatest suffering, because after the session of the Central Committee of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia, we were left without Savka Dabčević, Mika Tripalo, Pero Pirker, Vlado Gotovac, the Veselić brothers, Milovan Baletić, Ivan Zvonimir Čičak, Dražen Budiša, and thousands of the most respected Croatian politicians. And I was one of those victims. To say the least, you never followed political events in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is being told to you by the founder of HDZ BiH, whom Zagreb did not allow to be the first president.
Only when our position was sinking did they come for me, so I became the first Croat president of HDZ BiH. I was lucky that they did not interfere much in the electoral process in Bosnia and Herzegovina, except that they plastered 600,000 Tuđman posters. I became a record holder for the number of votes won by a Croat since 1910. Today, I am no longer proud of that result, although it will never be surpassed, because there are no longer Croats in Bosnia. Out of about 900,000 of us, counting only with the European diaspora, 83 percent lived in Bosnia and 17 percent in Herzegovina. To our great regret, there are not even that many there today. Where were you when political idiots and KOS agents moved the headquarters of HDZ BiH from Sarajevo to Grude?
You express yourself very rudely towards our Bosniaks. They have paid enough for the price of the devastating behavior of their leadership. You clearly do not know Belgrade's attempts to separate Bosniaks from Bosnia and Herzegovina. This has been happening from the beginning. Perhaps you are not aware that even Dobrica Ćosić invited Bosniak provincials to so-called Intellectual Talks, which was later formulated as the "Historical Agreement." Aleksandar Vučić is repeating the same thing today. However, the most intelligent Bosniaks (Alija Isaković, Omer Behmen, Safet Isović, Nijaz Duraković...) thwarted this "agreement" attempt.
They did not do this by believing Tuđman, Šušak, Boban, Šarinić, Pero Marković, Tuta, Štela, or Praljak. They truly believed in our Croats: Jure Pelivan, fra Petar Anđelović, Vitomir Lukić, Stjepan Kljuić, Jerko Doka, Damjan Vlašić, Martin Raguz (President of the Supreme Court of BiH), Franjo Topić, Martin Udovičić, Ante Mandić.... And then, without any reason, Boban and his KOS agents attacked Muslims in Prozor and caused a Croat-Muslim conflict, which was mutually tragic. This was the greatest success of Slobodan Milošević and KOS, and when asked by numerous world leaders - how is this even possible - I could never answer. Bob Dole, Cyrus Vance, Anton Tus, and Václav Havel were most surprised.
Had the Belgrade project succeeded by chance and mobilized 200,000 Muslims, with the armament they had and the military personnel, the target of Serbian aggression would not have been Karlobag, but they would have gone all the way to Umag... Muslims did not commit evil against us in Vukovar or Dubrovnik, nor in a number of other cities. You clearly never understood what Bosnia and Herzegovina gave to Croatia. Of the three Nobel laureates, two are ours. In sports, we gave Croatia the best. You will constantly praise football successes from those achieved by Miroslav Blažević to Zlatko Dalić. When Croatia won the Davis Cup for the second time, four out of five players were ours. In all sports, the most prominent names are those from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Finally, the renewal of your population was carried out from our country. You probably know that Croatia is the most demographically endangered in the EU. However, a real catastrophe awaits Croatia in the next 15 years, when the influx of young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina stops. To get a true picture of your problems, it is enough to take a telephone directory, and you will easily conclude that more than half of our people are there. This is easy to conclude from the surnames. Due to Zagreb's wrong policy, this process of population renewal in Croatia will experience a catastrophe.
I read that you would gladly talk to Vučić. This would be necessary given your current position. Just not about Bosnia. Your duty would be to demand back the looted cultural treasures of Croatia from Belgrade, even through compensation, and most importantly, for the remains of innocent victims, for which Belgrade certainly has genuine documentation, to be returned to Croatian families. This would be very humane, so that the victims and their families can finally find peace. That fascist with a "childlike face" would surely oblige you.
Finally, my advice would be to endure in this duty until the end of your term. Your election can only be interpreted by Epicurus's theory of objective coincidence. And let it remain at that.
